Sometimes a client calls us to end tutoring or request a new tutor — without saying anything to you. This can be upsetting, especially if you thought you’d established a good rapport with the parent or child. In general, however, we ask you NOT to contact the parent. Just accept that the relationship has ended. Sometimes the reason is financial, and we don’t want you to embarrass the parent by asking what’s happened. But also, a lot of parents just find it uncomfortable to tell you that tutoring is not having the results they want. One of the benefits we offer as a company is that clients can disconnect from tutoring with an impersonal phone call to us. Much easier than having to fire someone they hired themselves off a school list. Please respect this and just let it go.
