With the spread of Covid-19 accelerating in the U.S. online tutoring is increasingly the only way we will be able to help our clients.
We do not dictate the platform you should use. We recommend Zoom but Skype, Google Hangouts or Google Meet and Facetime are acceptable if you and the client agree. We STRONGLY discourage tutoring by phone, There is no way you can properly see your student’s work using a small screen. And smartphones, tablets and Chromebooks only give you a subset of Zoom’s functionality. A laptop or desktop computer are best.
We have prepared guides for our tutors and will continue to add to them as we become more expert in online tutoring ourselves (and welcome input from our experienced online tutors).
